    Liz Rothschild's presents her new one-woman show

    'Outside the Box - A Live Show About Death

    Liz is a performer, celebrant and award winning burial ground owner. Her unique and original taboo-busting show combines mercurial tales and miraculous truths on the business of dying - collected over the years from life’s finishing line. Outside The Box asks its audience to embrace mortality and look on the bright side of life, with a weave of untold and surprising stories, a hint of history and some pithy commentary on the funeral industry (from one who knows!).

    SATURDAY 3RD DECEMBER
    IN THE MARQUEE
    10.30 - 11.15 CATH THOMPSON - THE WORK OF SKANDA  VALE HOSPICE
    Clinical Nurse Manager, Cath, will be providing information about her work,  and the care provided for patients in the beautiful setting of Skanda Vale Hospice


    11.30 - 12.15 DR IDRIS BAKER - LIVING WITH DIGNITY
    Dr Baker is the Interim Clinical Director, Cancer Services with Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board. The assumption that people's quality of life will get worse when suffering with a debilitating illness is not so. Dr Baker, a consultant in palliative care at Ty Olwen Hospice, Morriston Hospital, believes there should be a greater focus on "living with dignity".


    12.30 - 13.15 KIERA L JONES - LIFE’S ONE CERTAINTY
    In this interesting talk, Kiera will be sharing with us about her work as a Soul Midwife and End of Life Companion and how, by embracing our own mortality, we can fully appreciate and live our lives.


    14.15 - 15.00  AN INTERVIEW WITH LIZ ROTHSCHILD - WOODLAND BURIAL SITES
    As well as presenting her one-woman show, Outside The Box at this weekend’s Elephant In The Room, Liz is also the manager of the Westmill Woodland Burial Site. During this interview, She will be talking and answering questions about what it means to have a woodland burial.

    Luke works with the Paul Sartori Foundation and in this presentation he will be looking at how we can make plans for future care.

     A chance to gather to eat cake, drink tea and discuss death.  A Death Cafe is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes. 


    WORKSHOPS IN THE ACTIVITY ROOM
    11.45 - 13.15  POETRY WORKSHOP with Ann Jay - beginning with couple of poems about grief, Ann will then move on guiding you to share your own thoughts through simple haiku poetry. 


    14.30 - 15.30 MY GIFT OF GRACE with Luke Conlon - A conversation game for living & dying well, about sharing choices and views for our future care in a safe, fun and supportive environment.


    15.45 - 16.30 RED KITE SOLICITORS- Advice on preparing a will, power of attorney and all things legal.


    SOUND BATHS IN THE SACRED SPACE
    Relax and enjoy a healing Sound Bath, with the therapeutic sounds of Himalayan Singing Bowls, Crystal Singing Bowls and Gongs.

    11.00 - 11.45 ROSIE STANBRIDGE - THE OLD MILL FOUNDATION
    Based at Penclawdd and Llandybie, the aim at the Old Mill, is to provide physical and emotional support for people living with cancer. Rosie will be talking about their work and services.


    12.00 - 12.45 JIM FOX – REST IN PEACE
    It isn’t necessary to wait until you die before you can experience what it is to “Rest In  Peace”. Drawing on themes from his books, writer and inspirational speaker, Jim Fox will look at how we can know Peace in the here and now.


    13.45 - 14.45 JACQUELINE WOODWARD - HOME MADE FUNERALS
    Speaking from personal experience, Jacqueline’s presentation will give new insight into what can be done to provide a funeral of your choice, without the hassle and expense that one might expect.


    15.30 - 17.00  A MULTI-FAITH FORUM ON DEATH & DYING

    Representatives from various faiths, including Buddhist, Catholic & Protestant Christian, Hindu, Krishna Devotees and others sharing, and answering questions about how their particular faith approaches the subject of death and dying.
